Obituary for Bernice Ida Brah

On Sunday, December 11, 2016, Bernice I. Brah (Dumke) left us to join our Dad in heaven for another opportunity to dance to their favorite song, Sentimental Journey. Mom was born to Paul and Adeline Dumke in 1927. She graduated from Milwaukee Girls Technical High School in 1945, and later from Sacred Heart School of Nursing. She married the love of her life, Gene (Eugene) Brah on September 21, 1946. Dad proceeded her in death in April of 2015. During their 68 years of marriage they were blessed with 5 children: Adelaide (James) Lackovic, Charles (Jelaine), Deacon Gene (Karen), Diane (James) Albiero and John (Mary) along with 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mom’s life was based on service to God, her family and the less fortunate. They were very active at St. Therese in Milwaukee, St. Faustina in Kissimmee, Florida and Mary Queen of Heaven in West Allis. Both mom and dad were also active in their support of Right to Life and Father Gene’s Help Center where they donated hundreds of homemade quilts. Mom was an LPN nurse for over 20 years at West Allis Memorial Hospital – Maternity Department. Mom always smiled and said hello to everyone she met. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Mary Queen of Heaven Parish (106th & Lincoln Ave., West Allis). Visitation 10 – 11:30 AM with Funeral Liturgy to follow. Fr. Thomas Vathappallil presiding assisted by Deacon Gene Brah. In lieu of flowers, donations to Right to Life are suggested.
